At the start of a conference it is always difficult to get contact. So we asked all participants to bring an object that was relevant to them and their museum. In little groups we shared the stories behind the objects.

Galit Gaon of the Israeli Cartoon Museum talked f.e. about the logo of her museum, a clear blue thinking bubble. A symbol for the museum as a place of dialogue. If you are a visitor or a cartoonist, you have to express yourself. If you enter the museum as a visitor you have to start the debate about the cartoon.

Tatyana Tsankova did bring a photo of the Gabrovo staff. Most of them all ready work there for several years and are part of the museum. Even when they are retired they still come to the museum to help in events. They are really committed to the House of Humour.

Vicdan Ozer brought the pipes, tobaccos and lighter from lately deceased Attila Ozer. They are the symbol for Atilla’s life and work which you can see in the Atilla Ozer Cartoon House.

These are just some examples of the great stories that cartoon museum directors and staff members shared with each other. It was a good start for the next days.
